Tuesday night, a man ran into traffic at the Pole Green Road interchange in Hanover County on Interstate 295, resulting in his death. The man was identified by Virginia State Police to be a 53-year-old from Glen Allen. When he ran into traffic, four cars hit him and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the collisions. A trooper said the crash happened around 8pm as the man ran into northbound lanes and was hit in the right center lane. A 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer hit him first, then three more vehicles, which all stopped at the time of the collision.
According to news reports, the pedestrian crash will remain under investigation by authorities. The collision caused northbound I-295 to be closed for over three hours afterward for crews to investigate and clear the scene of the pedestrian collision. As a Virginia car accident attorney, my thoughts are with everyone involved in this collision. If you or a loved one were injured in a crash resulting from negligence, discuss your case with a personal injury attorney Virginia who can assess your case, evaluate a claim, help protect your rights and answer any important legal questions regarding your case.
