Men Arrested for Assault After Auto Accident

July 26th, 2011

Police were called to the scene of a fight taking place outside two men’s cars on the Beltway. Witnesses said the men were involved in an auto accident when one of them pulled out a wooden club and hit the other driver on the head. A 44-year-old man from Halethorpe was charged with first degree assault. The other man, a 43-year-old from Federalsburg, is being charged with second degree assault. The incident happened around 5pm on Monday on the Inner Loop of I-495 west of Maryland Rt. 355. The driver who was hit on his head drove away from the incident, but police were able to catch up with him.

According to news reports, the man who was hit is being treated at Prince George’s Hospital Center for non-life-threatening injuries. As an Arlington auto accident lawyer, I hope that nobody else was harmed in this crash. My thoughts are with those who were harmed. If you or a loved one were hurt in an auto accident, discuss your case with an Arlington personal injury attorney who can evaluate your claim, assess your case, help defend your rights, and answer any legal questions you have concerning your case.
