Toning Shoe Wearers Sue Companies for Injuries
Many toning shoe lawsuits against toning shoes claim the shoes did more harm than good. According to a news story on WJLA.com a 57-year-old woman wore then for a few weeks when she started getting back injuries and sustained a broken ankle. She was not able to work due to the injuries, and hospital bills became too expensive to pay. “I was walking and all of sudden my feet was going from up under me and I was going down and I couldn’t do anything,” she said.
Another consumer sustained a broken ankle after walking down the street wearing toning shoes. “It almost felt like something was hitting me from behind and knocking me off my feet,” he said. “What I knew is I was falling down rapidly and it was excruciating pain shooting up my leg.”
There are as few as 40 consumers now suing toning shoe manufacturers. Attorney Andy Bederman stated, “The shoes, we think, are fundamentally unsafe and the manufacturer probably knew this and didn’t disclose it and should’ve disclosed it.”
Podiatrist Sheldon Lapps treats injuries sustained from wearing the shoes and believes they are harmful to wearers.
