Pedestrian Hit on Route 51

A woman was hit by a vehicle at Oldtown, said the Allegany County 911 Center. The unidentified pedestrian was hit just after 6am on Tuesday on Route 51. She was immediately transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by a Maryland State Police medevan helicopter. She was walking in the roadway when she was reportedly hit by the car. A Deputy is currently investigating the crash. Several emergency crews responded the wreck including the Oldtown and District 16 fire and rescue volunteers, along with a country medic from Bowman’s Addition, according to news reports.
