A task force was created from several different departments including the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Aberdeen Police Department, Havre de Grace police department, and Maryland State Police in order to help keep roads safer in Harford County. The group, called the Harford County Traffic Task Force, will focus their energy on decreasing collisions and targeting a few specific areas in order to make the streets safer. These efforts include enforcing seat belt usage, and monitoring drivers for being under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. There are certain parts of the county considered higher risk for collisions, and the task force will put their resources towards preventing wrecks in those areas. There have been 23 fatal wrecks so far in 2010, 24 in 2011, and this year there have been 10 so far, according to news reports.
As an auto accident attorney looking out for the interests of drivers and passengers, I sincerely hope this task force works to lower the number of car wrecks in the county of Harford. I always urge drivers to steer clear of drugs, alcohol, and distractions. If you or someone dear to you was harmed in a collision caused by negligence, you may want to discuss your claim with an attorney who can evaluate your case and help protect and defend your legal rights. With an attorney on your side, you are more likely to get the results you deserve for your case. An attorney can answer your questions and guide you through your case.
