A driver was recently arrested in Hartland for driving under the influence and texting and driving. The 27-year-old driver was heading along Interstate 91 when they suddenly veered off the road, then over-corrected into the center several times. When police pulled the driver over, they said they smelled marijuana. Police officials immediately conducted a field sobriety test. The driver admitted to texting and driving and also had an illegal blood alcohol level. He gave a pipe with some marijuana in it to police then said he was on his way home after drinking and smoking at a friends house, according to news reports.

State Police Enforce Seat Belt Safety
Maryland State Police are enforcing seat belt safety as part of the “Click it or Ticket” campaign. They want drivers and passengers to use their seat belts for their safety.
