A 14-year-old boy attempted to cross all lanes of MD Route 228, but while walking eastbound he was hit in lane No. 5. A 2010 Ford Expedition crashed into him driven by a 38-year-old woman from Bryans Road. She stayed at the scene of the crash. As a result of the injuries sustained during the collision, the teenager succumbed to his injuries after the crash, west of Route 301 in Waldorf. His identity was not released by authorities due to his young age. He was pronounced dead at Civista Medical Center after being rushed there via ambulance for treatment of head damage and serious internal injuries.
According to news reports, police were called to the scene at 1:05pm on Saturday. As a Columbia auto accident lawyer, I hope that nobody else was harmed in this crash. My thoughts are with those who were harmed. If you or a loved one were hurt in an auto accident, discuss your case with a Columbia personal injury attorney who can evaluate your claim, assess your case, help defend your rights, and answer any legal questions you have concerning your case.
