Spartan Stores have voluntarily recalled certain deli products as a precaution, effective September 12, 2012, as a result of concern over Lysteria Monocytogenes exposure. At this time, there are no reports of illness. The items were distributed to a limited number of independent supermarkets as well as Family Fare, D&W Fresh Markets, Glen’s, and VG’s in Michigan. Seafood Recalled for Listeria

3fish Inc. located in Gastonia, North Carolina is voluntarily recalling the products containing onions provided by Gills Onions. The onions have been found to possibly contain listeria virus which can proved deadly to children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. For healthy individuals the illness is not fatal. Seven of their various seafood products are affected by this recall and may contain listeria virus.

Voluntary Recall Issued for Pharmaceutical

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc. has recently announced a recall from users of one lot of Nimodipine Capsules, 30 mg, marketed by Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories. The recall is due to presence of crystals of nimodipine within the capsule solution of the lot. The following lots were recalled number: 3305.039A, NDC Number: 57664-135-65 (Unit Dose Blisters of 100 (25×4)) and number: 3305.039B, NDC Number: 57664-135-64 (Unit Dose Blisters of 30 (5×6)). Patients and healthcare providers are urged to discontinue use of these lots and contact the company immediately.

Exploding Toilets Recalled

Exploding toilets have caused 2,330,600 defective flushing mechanisms to get voluntarily recalled due to posing a laceration hazard. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of the Flushmate product. The system may burst, lifting the tank lid and shattering the tank. Those who own this product are urged to stop using it immediately. So far, 204 reports of bursting toilets which resulted in property damage, and 14 cases of laceration, were received by the company. The product is called the Series 503 Flushmate III, according to news reports. They were sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s for about $108.

Contaminated Snacks Pulled from Stores

Reichel Foods, Inc. of Rochester, Minnesota is recalling a few of its products (i.e. Dippin’ Stix Sliced Apples & Caramel with Peanuts and Armour Active Packs Cheese Pizza Lunch Kits) as a precaution. It has been determined by microbiological testing that some of these products may cause fatal infections in children and the elderly due to contamination. There has been no reported cases of illnesses caused by these products. The products of concern have expiration dated of September 1-3, 2012 and were distributed through retailers in the U.S.

Adult Tracheostomy Tubes Recalled

Covidien announced on August 4, 2012 that they had notified customers on July 18, 2012 that they were voluntarily recalling a few lots of their Shiley reusable cannula, cuffed adult tracheostomy tubes, size 8. They are recalling them, because they are receiving a large number of reports that the tubes are leaking and disconnecting between the inner and outer cannulae.

This article is about the voluntary recalling of 6 pack chocolate chip Clif bars by Clif Bar & Company. The reason the company is doing a voluntary recall is because of mislabeling. Some Coconut chocalte Clif bars were mislabeled with Chocolate Macadamia Clif bars in select stores. Clif bar & Company feared law suites that could stem from coconut allergies.
