We made an easy list on what to do after an auto accident.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stay Calm<\/strong><br \/>\nStop to protect your passengers and your car. Call an ambulance for any injured party. Set flares if you carry them, and do not leave the scene of the accident.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exchange Documents<\/strong><br \/>\nDon\u2019t discuss the accident with anyone or blame anyone, including yourself. \u00a0Exchange only your license, registration and insurance information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Driver Facts<\/strong><br \/>\nTake down the name, address, operator\u2019s license number, date of birth, sex, state of license, and the phone number of the other driver.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ownership Facts<\/strong><br \/>\nWrite down the name, address, and the insurance company of the owner of the other car involved. The driver may not be the owner of the car.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Injured Parties<\/strong><br \/>\nSeek information from police for all injured parties involved including passengers. Take down the names, addresses, dates of birth, sex, and extent of injury. \u00a0See a doctor as soon as possible if you are injured.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Witnesses<\/strong><br \/>\nBe sure to write down the names, addresses, and phone numbers of any people who saw the accident but weren\u2019t involved in it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Get a Report<\/strong><br \/>\nTalk to the police officer(s) and get their name(s) and when and where a police report will be available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Damages<\/strong><br \/>\nNote the make, body type, year, and license number of the other vehicle. Also, make note of the damage to the other vehicle. If possible, take pictures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Draw a Diagram<\/strong><br \/>\nMake a note below the diagram of the date and time of the accident. Write down the location including the street, intersection, or any landmarks.
