Media outlets<\/a> reported that a Conway man was killed when he was struck by a truck in Washington DC Friday evening.<\/p>\n

According to the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened around 7:30pm Friday at the intersection of 8th<\/sup> Street and Virginia Avenue, SE. The 65-year-old Conway man was struck by a 2003 Dodge pickup truck the was traveling eastbound on Virginia Avenue as he attempted to cross south on 8th<\/sup> Street in the crosswalk.<\/p>\n

The man was severely injured in the accident. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and transported the man by DC Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.<\/p>\n

Investigators in the department\u2019s major crash investigations unit are hesitant to reveal details until the completion of their investigation. They have not indicated whether the driver will be cited in the incident or whether the driver was injured in the accident.<\/p>\n
