Sleep Devices Recalled Due To Potential For Users to Inhale or Ingest Potentially Dangerous and Carcinogenic Foam Material Found to Deteriorate and Off-Gas In the Machine

If this happened to you, this may be the most important message you will read -- and could significantly benefit you financially...

Our legal team is currently accepting cases across the U.S. for victims who may have been injured by recalled CPAP machines.

At A Glance:

  • On June 14th, 2021 Philips® issued a Class 1 recall on approximately 15 Million CPAP and BiPAP sleep apnea breathing machines.
  • The recalled CPAP and BiPAP machines contain a sound dampening foam that can deteriorate (and off-gas) potentially dangerous and carcinogenic particles.
  • The recalled devices were produced between 2009 and 2021.
  • The injuries that can result from inhaling or ingesting the dangerous foam particles are many (seen above).
  • Dozens of Philips® CPAP and BiLevel PAP products are affected -- including DreamStation®, SystemOne®, C-Series®, OmniLab® and more.
  • The sound abatement (dampening) foam is made of polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) and contains many chemicals that may be carcinogenic or harmful to humans.
  • The sound dampening foam may degrade and deteriorate even more when certain cleaning methods are used such as ozone-based cleaning.
  • Many Philips CPAP and BiPAP machine users have even found black debris and/or particles along the airpath of the device.
  • It is alleged that Philips® knew of these risks well before they issued the recall.
  • The medical and scientific community has known about the health risks associated with PE-PUR foam for decades -- so its use in sleep apnea breathing machines has many experts concerned.

If you suffered injury due to a recalled Philips CPAP or BiPAP machine, you may be eligible for significant compensation.
